Behind the Scenes: Brilliant Lash Pro Tests Brown Lash Samples Live (And They Might Be Joining the Line)

Most lash brands would never open samples live on camera. We did.

In Episode 4 of Behind the Brilliance, Danielle and Ashtyn received samples of three potential new Brilliant Lash Pro products and tested them all with zero prep, zero edits, and no idea what the results would be. Brown lashes, rechargeable fans, and new lash palette designs.

Why Brilliant Has Never Carried Colored Lashes Until Now

Colored lashes have always failed on two counts: thickness and feel. Most colored lash manufacturers produce lashes at 0.05 or 0.07 diameter, which feel stiff and plasticky compared to the 0.03 standard that Brilliant holds for Softline. On top of that, colored lashes often use a

slightly different material composition, and finding a manufacturer that could match the softness, fanability, and quality Brilliant's clients expect took years of searching.

What Makes a Great Brown Lash

For Brilliant, a brown lash has to meet the same standard as any lash they carry: 0.03 diameter for volume compatibility, consistent fan quality off the strip, a fine taper at the tip, and softness that doesn't feel synthetic. Beyond construction, shade matters. Proper brown lash styling means being able to match a client's skin tone, which requires real variety: a warm reddish brown, a cool light brown, and a deep dark brown at minimum.

Live Test Results

Ashtyn is not easy to impress, and she called these samples the softest brown lashes she had ever touched. One shade was rejected immediately for a greenish undertone. The remaining two moved on to the fan test, where both Danielle and Ashtyn were pleasantly surprised by the fanability. The verdict: 'We have a contender.' That's the first time those words have been said about a brown lash at Brilliant.

Rechargeable Fan and Palette Samples

The rechargeable fan samples were powerful but too small aesthetically. More samples are coming. The lash palette samples were more interesting: a flat segmented design that snapped apart got rejected, but a book-style design that stores upright and slides in layers surprised both hosts with its functionality and storage solution.
