Lash Artist Content Ideas for July and August: Your Free Calendar

Lash Artist Content Ideas for July and August: Your Free Calendar

No Excuses for Not Posting This Summer

Ashtyn built you a content calendar. A full Monday-through-Friday posting plan for July and August, with content ideas designed to grow your following, drive bookings, and get your work in front of clients who have never heard of you.

This episode of Behind the Brilliance is her walking through the whole thing -- idea by idea -- with Danielle adding context and the occasional very enthusiastic pushback.

The free download is at brilliantlashpro.com. This post will walk you through the highlights.

When to Post (and What Time Actually Works)

Before the content ideas: timing. Ashtyn's take is that most lash artists post when it is convenient for them, not when their audience is actually online. "I always find that either early in the morning when people are getting ready for work, around lunchtime when they're on their lunch break scrolling, or after work always do the best."

The data tends to back this up. People are on their phones when they are transitioning between activities -- waking up, eating lunch, commuting home. A post that goes up at a random 11am midweek is going into a low-attention window.

If you want to know your specific best times, most platforms show you analytics on when your followers are active. Use it.

Post Your Work. Every Week.

This is the one content pillar Ashtyn comes back to: post your work at least once a week. "Your social media is your portfolio. If people are like oh I want to go get my lashes done by Ashtyn, they're going to go look at your social media and see how your work looks."

The good news: you do not need new content every week. You should already be collecting before-and-afters during appointments. Batch four posts at the beginning of the month using what is already in your camera roll. It takes less time than you think.

The Summer Hook That Will Stop a Scroll

For July content, Ashtyn's strongest idea is the vacation angle: post your work to a video with text overlay that says something like "POV you don't want to wear mascara on vacation." Someone scrolling before a summer trip sees that and immediately sees themselves in it.

You can extend this into educational content too -- what ruins lash retention on vacation (sunscreen, heat, humidity), how to wash lashes while traveling, what to do if extensions start shedding early. That kind of content gets shared by other lash artists, which puts your name in front of a completely new audience.

Client Reaction Videos: The Hardest Content to Get and the Best Content to Post

Danielle's contribution to this section: client reaction videos are some of the most effective social proof you can put out. "These are always just so wholesome. Watching your clients and seeing how excited they are will kind of build that trust with your audience."

You need permission to film. You need to ask in the moment. But if you have a full set or a first-time lash lift client who has a strong reaction when they see themselves in the mirror -- that moment is worth capturing. Screenshot reviews from texts and Yelp work well on Stories as a daily alternative.

Trend Content in 15 Minutes: The Batching System

One of the most practical sections of this episode: how Ashtyn batches trend content. "What we do is every two weeks, we have a list of trends that we want to hop on and we shoot it in like 15 minutes. We get two weeks worth of content done in 15 minutes."

The system: keep a running list of sounds, formats, and hooks you want to try. Every two weeks, sit down and film them all back to back. Edit and schedule. Done. If something new pops up between sessions, add it and post it fast -- but do not let trend-chasing replace the scheduled batch.

August: Back-to-School Content

When July turns to August, the content angle shifts. Students heading back to school -- especially college students -- are a strong target audience for lash content. Ashtyn's suggestions: lashes for back-to-school season, a potential sale tied to the timing, and styling content that speaks to a daily-wear, low-maintenance look.

Lash styles for every eye shape also fits August well. Danielle has heard this question from clients directly: "I have really hooded eyelashes -- are you even able to lash me?" Content that shows your range of eye shapes and your ability to customize tells that client they have a place with you.

Rate Your Beginner Lash Sets

Danielle pushed this idea throughout the episode and it is worth including in your content plan: film yourself rating the lash sets you did when you were just starting out. "I know we all have those old pictures."

This content works on multiple levels. It is funny and self-aware. It shows growth and honesty. And it tells potential clients that you take quality seriously enough to look back critically at your own work. "Don't hide where you've come from."
